Mogadishu(SONNA)-At least 23 Al-Shabaab militants were killed and others injured after the Somali National Army carried out well coordinated operation at Danowe location near Shalanbod district in lower Shabelle region on Monday morning.
Somali National Army Chief, Odowa Yusuf Rage told Somali National Agency that SNA and ATMIS forces thwarted an ambush attack from the terrorists at the area and destroyed their intention to inflict casualties on joint forces.
“Our SNA forces killed 23 terrorist militants of Al-Shabaab and injured others at Danow location in lower Shabelle region this morning. The forces recovered weapons large amount of weapons during the operation”, Army Chief said.
He added that the operations will continue until the terrorists are cleared out the region and across the country.
In Hiiraan region, Al-Shabaab militants carried out suicide car bomb attack in Halgan district killing one soldier and injuring 12 others including civilians according to SONNA.
