Somali Minister of Security Meets AU Special Envoy to Discuss Stabilization Efforts

Mogadishu – The Minister of Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali (Doodishe), recently held a crucial meeting in Mogadishu with Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine, the African Union (AU) Special Envoy to Somalia. The meeting aimed to address the ongoing stabilization efforts in the country and enhance cooperation between the Somali government and the AU.

During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali and Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine engaged in extensive discussions on various matters concerning the security situation in Somalia. The focus was placed on strengthening collaboration and providing continued support to the Somali Police Force in their endeavors to establish peace and stability in the region.

One of the key topics emphasized by Minister Doodishe was the urgent need to address the security challenges in Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia. He stressed that ensuring the overall stability of the city is of utmost importance and called for concerted efforts to enhance security measures and maintain peace.

Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine, as the AU Special Envoy to Somalia, expressed his commitment to supporting Somalia’s stabilization process. He acknowledged the significant progress made by the Somali Police Force and reaffirmed the AU’s dedication to collaborating with the Somali government to overcome security obstacles and achieve lasting peace.

The discussions between Minister Doodishe and Ambassador El-Amine underscored the shared commitment to advancing the security situation in Somalia and fostering positive developments in the region. Both officials recognized the importance of a stable and secure environment for the socio-economic growth of the country and the well-being of its citizens.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of determination to work hand in hand to combat threats to peace and security in Somalia. The collaboration between the Federal Government of Somalia and the African Union remains crucial in achieving the collective goal of a peaceful and prosperous Somalia..
