Mahaday, (SONNA) – Somali local forces have successfully eliminated a senior Al-Shabaab commander along with three of his bodyguards during a planned military operation conducted early this morning in the town of Mahaday.
The slain militant leader has been identified as Muhaydin Hassan, who served as Al-Shabaab’s commander in the Eed Eedka Jimbilo area.
According to reports, the local forces launched a surprise attack on the hideout where the commander and his guards were stationed, seizing several weapons and military equipment from the site.
Somali local forces continue to carry out intensive operations aimed at eradicating the remaining Al-Shabaab elements across the Middle Shabelle region.
