DAR ES SALAAM (SONNA) — The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in the United Republic of Tanzania is set to officially inaugurate the newly constructed residence of the Ambassador. This development serves as a key component of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ ongoing strategy to modernize Somalia’s diplomatic assets and enhance the visual and operational standing of its missions abroad.
The completion of the residence represents a rapid expansion of Somalia’s diplomatic infrastructure in Tanzania. It stands as the second major construction project to be successfully delivered under the tenure of Ambassador Elias Ali Hassan within a span of just twelve months. This consistent progress reflects a focused effort to establish a permanent and dignified environment for Somalia’s diplomatic engagements in the region.
Prior to this latest development, the Embassy celebrated the inauguration of the Chancery, the main embassy office building in June of last year. That project involved extensive reconstruction and the installation of modern equipment to facilitate consular services and bilateral work. With the addition of the new residence, the mission has effectively revitalized its physical presence, ensuring that both the working and living quarters of the diplomatic staff meet international standards.
The new facility is expected to serve as a hub for diplomatic hospitality and engagement, further strengthening the brotherly relations between Somalia and Tanzania. The rapid modernization of the mission’s infrastructure highlights the Federal Government’s commitment to projecting a robust and professional image on the global stage.
