Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Ma’allin Abdulle, hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand, H.E. Morakot Janemathukorn, in his office today. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in addressing Somalia’s humanitarian challenges and exploring ways for Thailand to contribute to relief efforts in the country.
During the discussions, Commissioner Abdulle provided an overview of the current humanitarian situation in Somalia, emphasizing the urgent need for support in areas such as disaster response, technical assistance, and essential equipment. He highlighted the critical role of international partners in helping SoDMA fulfill its mandate of mitigating disasters and supporting vulnerable communities.
Ambassador Janemathukorn expressed Thailand’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s humanitarian efforts. She pledged that the Thai government would actively participate in relief activities and collaborate closely with SoDMA to address the country’s pressing needs.
