Himeji, Japan – Somalia’s Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) commissioner, Mohamud Ma’alin, led a delegation to a conference in Himeji, Japan, this week. The “Understanding Risk Global Forum” is a biennial event that focuses on disaster risk management.
Commissioner Ma’alin addressed the forum, highlighting SODMA’s history, achievements over the past two years, upcoming initiatives, and current challenges. The delegation also participated in educational sessions and discussions on managing natural and man-made disasters.
Commissioner Ma’alin expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for organizing the conference and the Japanese government for hosting it.
