KIEV (SONNA) – The new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Ukraine, H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Ahmed, has formally commenced his official duties after presenting his letters of credence to H.E. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine.
The high-level diplomatic ceremony, held in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, solidifies Ambassador Ahmed’s role as Somalia’s official envoy to the nation. The presentation of credentials is a long-standing and essential diplomatic protocol that formally authorizes an ambassador to represent their head of state and government in the host country.
During the formal exchange, President Zelenskyy accepted the diplomatic credentials from Ambassador Ahmed, officially accrediting him.
The Ukrainian President warmly welcomed the new ambassador and took the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to the Federal Republic of Somalia. President Zelenskyy specifically commended the strong and positive relationship that has been cultivated between the two nations, highlighting the mutual respect that underpins their bilateral ties.
