BELGRADE, Serbia – The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Serbia, H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Ahmed, accompanied by embassy diplomats, conducted a high-level visit to the Marshal Tito Training Centre (Kula Training Centre) today to inspect and encourage a unit of Somali officers currently undergoing specialized instruction.

The officers, members of the elite unit tasked with the protection of National Leaders (Presidential Guard), are participating in an advanced capacity-building program facilitated by the Serbian government.

During his address at the prestigious military academy, Ambassador Mohamed expressed profound gratitude to the Government of Serbia, specifically the Ministry of Interior and Security, for their dedication to enhancing the capabilities of Somalia’s security sector. He highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership, noting that the specialized training provided to these officers is critical for the safety and stability of Somalia’s highest institutions.

In a direct address to the officers, the Ambassador urged them to maximize this rare opportunity. He emphasized the weight of their future responsibilities and encouraged them to approach their training with discipline, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.

“You are here to acquire skills that are vital for our nation,” Ambassador Mohamed stated. “I urge you to complete this rigorous training with integrity so that you may return home equipped to serve your country at the highest level.”

The training program is part of a broader security cooperation framework between Somalia and Serbia, reflecting the strengthening diplomatic and military ties between the two nations.
