Addis Ababa – The Somali Ambassador to Ethiopia, Abdullahi Mohamed Warfaa, welcomed Ms. Dalitso Dikirani Bonongwe, Secretary to the African Union Commission (AUC), for a significant meeting today. The envoy was joined by the Communication Officer, Laura Harivola Rakotonandrasana, in a courtesy call that centered on pressing matters affecting the continental organization, with a primary focus on security concerns both regionally and across Africa.

During the exchange of views, Ambassador Warfaa and Secretary Bonongwe engaged in candid discussions regarding various security challenges that have been affecting the African continent. The talks encompassed a range of topics, including escalating regional security issues and broader concerns that impact Africa’s stability.

The meeting emphasized the importance of cooperation and collaboration among African nations to address the shared security concerns effectively. Both parties underscored the significance of a unified approach in order to maintain peace and stability within the region and across the entire continent.

Secretary Bonongwe conveyed the African Union Commission’s commitment to fostering a safer environment for all African countries. She highlighted the role of collective efforts and strategies in combating security threats, terrorism, and other destabilizing factors. Ambassador Warfaa echoed these sentiments and reiterated Somalia’s dedication to working closely with its African counterparts to find solutions that ensure the well-being of all nations.

The discussions also touched upon the African Union’s broader agenda, focusing on initiatives aimed at promoting development, economic growth, and political stability across the continent. The engagement between Ambassador Warfaa and Secretary Bonongwe further exemplified the diplomatic ties and shared goals of African nations in their pursuit of a prosperous and secure future.

As the meeting concluded, both parties expressed optimism about the outcomes of their talks and looked forward to continued collaboration in addressing the challenges that lie ahead.
