Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahamuud Moallim today opened a strategic meeting in Mogadishu presenting a new action plan for capacity building and resource mobilization, with representatives from the UN, international partners, and national agencies in attendance.
The meeting marked the launch of the National Disaster Risk Management Fund, established to boost risk awareness, rapid emergency response, and sustainable recovery across Somalia.
Commissioner Mahamuud stressed the need for stronger institutional cooperation to tackle the impacts of climate change and recurrent disasters, urging stakeholders to put the plan into action and ensure effective, people-centered services nationwide.
