Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, accompanied by members of the Galmudug Drought Response Committee, on the third day of his drought-relief mission reached Wisil District in Mudug Region.
During the visit, the Commissioner officially handed over 125 water tankers to the Wisil District Drought Committee, aimed at supplying clean water to rural communities and surrounding areas severely affected by the ongoing drought.
Mr. Abdulle also personally oversaw emergency water distribution to pastoral communities, where he met families facing extremely harsh living conditions due to prolonged drought. He called on the Somali public to stand in solidarity and support drought-affected communities, particularly during this blessed month.
Wisil District is located in Mudug Region under the administration of Galmudug, one of the areas hardest hit by recurring climate shocks.
