Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army (SNA) is conducting significant military operations in areas along the banks of the Shabelle River in the Middle Shabelle region. These operations aim to eliminate Al-Shabaab militants from several localities, including Kiliga Maxamed Diirshe, Raas Qaboobe, Jameeco, Shanloow, Dhagaxoow, Yaaqle, Damileey, and other areas along the Shabelle River.
Military officials have informed media outlets that the operations involve collaboration with local forces, reporting that Al-Shabaab has suffered heavy casualties during the campaign. They confirmed the deaths of numerous militants and the capture of additional terrorists.
The SNA continues its pursuit of remaining Al-Shabaab fighters, who are believed to be hiding in underground bunkers previously used as hideouts. The ongoing operations reflect the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and restoring security in the region.
