Mogadishu(SONNA)-Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management of the Federal Republic of Somalia revealed that about 2000 families were displaced by fresh floods made by Shabelle river in Afgoye town and other locations nearby in lower Shabelle region, SONNA reported Monday.
It said in a statement that 300 families were displaced in the neighborhoods of Afgoye town alone and 1500 were displaced in the locations of Irdole, Balbaley, Balow, Jambalul, Mareray, Sabib and Anole.
The Ministry said the river floods had negative impact on crops of the agriculturalists, business movement, and as well as the traffic in the region.
