Garowe, (SONNA) – The Puntland Counter-Terrorism Forces destroyed five (5) bases belonging to the Daesh-affiliated militants after conducting operations in Tagga Il-cameyro in Buuralay Cal-miskaad of Bari region.

The forces also destroyed drones used by the terrorist militants for surveillance.

The forces recently conducted a sweeping operation covered several locations in the region, focusing on areas where Daesh-affiliated extremists have reportedly been extorting and exploiting local civilians. The military’s presence aims to dismantle the group’s influence and restore security to the affected communities.

In addition to the operations, the mission commanders held awareness-raising sessions with local residents. These meetings emphasized the importance of collaboration between civilians and security forces in combating terrorism. Community members were also cautioned against being swayed by extremist ideologies and discouraged from cooperating with terrorist groups.

This operation marks a significant step in Puntland’s ongoing efforts to counter terrorism and strengthen trust between security forces and local populations.
