Bari, (SONNA) – The Puntland Darawish forces thwarted an attack by Daesh, the ISIS-affiliated terrorist group, on military outposts in the Calmiskaad Mountains of Bari region.
The Daesh militants, who were dealt a strong blow in the areas of Haraaryo and Toga-Jaceel within these mountainous regions, have left their bodies strewn across the area, according to officers leading the anti-Daesh operations in the mountains.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud recently reinforced the federal government’s call for operations against the Daesh terrorists hiding in the Calmiskaad Mountains of Bari region, commending the historical victories achieved by the Puntland regional government’s forces and its people.
Operations in the Calmiskaad Mountains of Bari have inflicted significant losses on Daesh militants, with several foreign commanders and a number of local militiamen killed.
