Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, officially laid the foundation stone for a new state-of-the-art judiciary complex, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of the country’s judicial system.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized that the new facility will greatly enhance the capacity of Somalia’s judicial institutions to provide efficient services to the Somali people. This initiative, he noted, is a major step toward addressing the challenges faced by the justice sector.
“The establishment of this facility is a vital step in alleviating the longstanding issues within Somalia’s justice system, such as inadequate infrastructure. It signifies the beginning of a comprehensive modernization effort aimed at improving justice delivery for all Somalis,” said the Prime Minister.
The foundation stone-laying event was attended by key judicial leaders, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Attorney General, and other officials from the country’s justice institutions.
This modern judiciary complex is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the rule of law, improving access to justice, and fostering trust between the public and the legal system.
