Mogadishu, SONNA — The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, today conducted a working visit to Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu to assess the efficiency and quality of services provided to the Somali public and the overall functioning of airport agencies.

During the visit, the Prime Minister reviewed key operations, including health services, immigration procedures, security measures, and other passenger-related processes. He emphasized the need to strengthen service quality, ensuring that airport operations are efficient, timely, and fully compliant with international standards.

Prime Minister Hamza listened directly to complaints and suggestions from members of the public awaiting airport services. He instructed airport authorities and staff to take greater responsibility, prioritize passenger facilitation, and pay special attention to travelers in vulnerable situations requiring care and consideration.

Highlighting the strategic importance of the airport, the Prime Minister noted that Aden Abdulle International Airport is the first point of entry into Somalia and should reflect the nation’s development and prestige. He urged all agencies operating at the airport to redouble their efforts to serve the community, maintain the airport’s reputation, and address shortcomings promptly.

It is unacceptable for the Somali people to face challenges with government services. When shortcomings occur, the government will act decisively to hold those responsible accountable and ensure services meet the highest standards.”.

The visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving public services, ensuring accountability, and enhancing the overall experience for travelers entering and exiting Somalia.
