Prime Minister Hamse Holds talks with US President Joe Biden

New York, SONNA – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamse Abdi Barre, held a crucial meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The discussions between Prime Minister Hamse and President Biden centered on enhancing cooperation and strategic relations between Somalia and the United States. Both leaders emphasized the importance of their partnership in promoting regional stability and security.

Prime Minister Hamse expressed his gratitude to the U.S. government and its people for their support to Somalia, particularly in the critical areas of security, governance reconstruction, and the fight against international terrorism.

In a joint statement, Prime Minister Hamse and President Biden reaffirmed their commitment to the independence, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia. They acknowledged that these principles are vital for the stability of the Horn of Africa region.

This meeting marks an important moment in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Somalia and the United States, paving the way for future collaboration and mutual support.
