Kampala, (SONNA) — The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has officially closed a high-level military training program for 48 officers of the Somali National Army (SNA).
The Somali officers were part of a total of 498 participants who completed a year-long advanced military training course in Uganda.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Uganda, H.E. Fardowsa Mohamed Qanyare, along with senior military officials from both countries.
Uganda has previously provided various military training programs to units of the Somali National Army, playing a key role in Somalia’s stabilization efforts and the ongoing fight against terrorism.
