Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, visited De Martino Hospital today to assess the condition of wounded local forces injured on the frontlines in the fight against al-Shabaab (Khawaarij).
The President met with the injured soldiers one by one, reaffirming the Federal Government’s full commitment to their medical care and long-term support. He praised their sacrifice and bravery, stating that their efforts are central to the country’s security and sovereignty.
“You are the defenders of our people, our faith, and our nation. You have earned a place of honor in Somali history. The government of Somalia is fully committed to standing with you,” said President Hassan Sheikh.
During the visit, the President also toured several departments of the hospital and received a briefing from hospital management on the services being provided, the challenges faced, and plans for future improvements.
President Hassan Sheikh was accompanied by the First Deputy Speaker of the Upper House, H.E. Ali Shacbaan Ibrahim, and the Deputy President of Hirshabelle State, H.E. Yusuf Ahmed Hagar.
