Mogadishu, SONNA – H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, today hosted renowned African football legends Samuel Eto’o, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Jay-Jay Okocha at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.
President Hassan Sheikh praised the visit as a symbolic gesture reflecting Somalia’s improving security and recovery.
The President emphasized the Federal Government’s dedication to advancing sports in Somalia and promoting young talent in various disciplines, especially football.
The historic event was also attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, H.E. Mohamed Abdiqadir Cali, the President of the Somali Football Federation, Mr. Ali Abdi Mohamed, as well as the heads of the South Sudan and Djibouti Football Federations, Mr. Augustino Maduot Parek and Mr. Suleiman Hassan Waberi.
The visit by these international sports icons marks a significant milestone in Somalia’s reintegration into global sports diplomacy and youth empowerment.
