Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has inaugurated a modern hospital established in the city of Mogadishu, emphasizing the importance of investing in healthcare services to meet the significant needs of the Somali people.
The President praised Somali entrepreneurs and youth involved in the project, highlighting that such efforts contribute to the improvement of healthcare services and reduce the need for medical travel abroad.
“The healthcare situation deeply affects me. Every day, 100 to 150 individuals leave the country by plane for medical treatment. The youth who initiated, planned, and funded this project have not only provided healthcare services but have also introduced a new culture to the medical community.”
The President presented a tripartite plan for collaboration between entrepreneurs and the government over the next five years, which includes the establishment of six hospitals across Somalia and enhancing the quality of healthcare in the country.
The Hodan Hospital, inaugurated by the President, was funded with over $12 million, aiming to treat various illnesses that previously required overseas treatment, alleviating the burden on the Somali population.
