Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, participated in the national celebration marking the 65th anniversary of Somalia’s independence and unification, calling on the Somali people to strengthen national unity, solidarity, and state-building.
The President, who also serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, was accompanied by General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, Chief of the Somali National Army. He received a ceremonial salute from units of the national armed forces during a military parade at the Daljirka Dahsoon Monument, along Maka Al-Mukarrama Road in Mogadishu.
The celebration featured a display of helicopters from the Somali Air Force, as well as naval units, tanks, and armored vehicles from the Somali National Army and Police—demonstrating the military’s readiness to defend the sovereignty, security, and unity of the country.
