President Farmajo meets the Somali community in Turkey

Istanbul (SONNA) –  The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, met with members of the Somali Diaspora in Turkey, encouraging them to take advantage of trade, education and investment opportunities in Turkey.

The President briefed the Somali Diaspora on the overall situation in the country and the people of Somalia, the progress made by the Federal Government of Somalia and the plans ahead, calling on the business community and the Somali community in Turkey to assist in rescuing the Somali people. affected by the drought.

The Somali Diaspora in Turkey briefed the President on their situation of the in Turkey, and shared their concerns about the needs of the Diaspora in Turkey.President Farmajo called on the members of the community who attended the meeting and others who could not afford to attend due to COVID-19 situation, to help each other and treat the people and the government well in Turkey.

The President’s meeting with the community was attended by the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People Hon Mahad Abdalle Awad, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Upper House Hon. Moulid Hussein Guhaad, the Director General of the Presidency Hon Mohamed Abdullahi Isse and the Ambassador of Somalia to Turkey Mr. Jama Aideed Mohamed.
