LAASCAANOOD, (SONNA) — The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, held a consultative meeting with representatives from various segments of the Sanaag region’s community as part of his ongoing peace and unity mission in Laascaanood, the capital of the SSC-Khaatumo administration.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Hamza underscored the need to strengthen peace, unity, social cohesion, and reconciliation efforts. He also called on local communities to play an active role in the fight against the Al-Shabaab militant group, commonly referred to as the Khawaarij.

The Prime Minister listened to recommendations and insights from traditional elders and community leaders, acknowledging the significance of inclusive dialogue in Somalia’s nation-building process. He emphasized that such engagements are essential for achieving comprehensive national unity and creating the foundation for lasting peace and development.

“These community discussions are a cornerstone of our efforts to build a peaceful, united, and prosperous Somalia,” Prime Minister Hamza stated, reaffirming his government’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots involvement in national recovery efforts.
