The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, congratulated the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Transport and Aviation for achieving the highest level of airspace management in the country.
Airspace management is the process of ensuring the safe and efficient use of the airspace by coordinating the movement of aircraft and providing information and services to pilots and air traffic controllers. It is essential for the development of aviation, as it enables the expansion of air transport, tourism, trade, and humanitarian operations.
The Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Transport and Aviation have made remarkable progress in upgrading their airspace management system from level G to level “A”, which is the highest level of airspace management. This means that Somalia has met the international standards and best practices for the provision of air navigation services, safety oversight, security, and infrastructure.
Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre expressed his appreciation for their efforts and his vision for Somalia’s future in aviation. He said, “Somalia is opening up to the world, we need our agencies to be ready for the responsibility, so that we can learn from the world we work with, and come up with skills, knowledge and experience that we can trade with the world.” He also praised the Civil Aviation Authority for being among the most advanced agencies in the country, and said that the DanQaran Government attaches great importance to the development of the Civil Aviation Authority, so that it can compete with its counterparts.
The achievement of the highest level of airspace management is a significant milestone for Somalia, as it demonstrates its commitment and capability to improve its aviation sector and contribute to the regional and global air transport network.
