Mogadishu, (SONNA)-Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament of Somalia, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe), held a meeting today with the United States Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Larry Andrè and discussed recent reconciliation achievements in SouthWest State and the general state of the country.
The US Ambassador praised the Speaker of the Federal Parliament for his impartial and astute leadership, which led to the successful conclusion of the negotiations in Biadoa.
The Speaker also thanked the United States for its ongoing support to the Federal Government of Somalia and for its role in facilitating the reconciliation talks in SouthWest State.
In addition, he commended the US for its efforts to support the Somali people in their fight against the Al-Shabaab militant group, which has posed a significant threat to the existence and progress of the nation.
