Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Lower House and Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia on Saturday jointly approved the agreement signed by the Federal Government of Somalia and Federal Members states in Somalia in Mogadishu on 17th September, 2020, SONNA reported.
Speaker of the lower House, Mohamed Mursal Abdirahman said that 252 members accepted the agreement by raising hands, 2 rejected while another one abstained, therefore, the agreement was valid.
On his part, Speaker of the Upper House, Hon. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi thanked members of both houses for approving it, saying they made legal electoral model procedures for the country.
Parliamentary elections are expected to start on November 1st this year according to the agreed and approved agreement.
