Over Ten Khawaarij Eliminated in Joint Operations Across Hirshabeelle and Galmudug

Mogadishu, Somalia – Somali National Army forces, in a coordinated and effective series of military operations conducted across the Hirshabeelle and Galmudug states, have successfully neutralized more than ten members of the Khawaarij group. These recent security efforts mark a significant advancement in the ongoing national campaign to root out terrorism and stabilize regions previously impacted by the militant presence.

The operations, which were executed with precision and strategic planning, targeted known hideouts and operational areas of the Khawaarij. While specific details of each engagement are still emerging, preliminary reports confirm that the actions have severely degraded the group’s capabilities in these key central regions of Somalia. The consistent pressure applied by government forces and allied local militias continues to yield positive results, demonstrating a robust commitment to reclaiming national territory and ensuring the safety of citizens.

These latest successes in Hirshabeelle and Galmudug are part of a broader, intensified security offensive launched by the Federal Government of Somalia. The government has repeatedly emphasized its resolve to dismantle all Khawaarij networks, both militarily and ideologically, to pave the way for sustainable peace and development. The coordinated nature of these operations across different states highlights an integrated approach to national security, ensuring that militants have fewer safe havens.

Military commanders on the ground have lauded the bravery and dedication of the Somali forces, emphasizing the growing morale and operational effectiveness of the troops. The elimination of these Khawaarij members is expected to further disrupt their logistical chains and reduce their capacity to launch attacks against civilian populations and government installations. This continuous attrition of their ranks is crucial for undermining their operational strength and ideological appeal.

The Federal Government of Somalia remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring full governmental control and services across the nation. Such operations are vital not only for immediate security gains but also for creating an environment conducive to reconstruction, humanitarian aid delivery, and long-term socio-economic recovery in the affected areas.
