Mogadishu (SONNA) — The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission today dispatched election materials from Mogadishu for the upcoming one-person, one-vote elections set to take place in areas of the South West State.
Chairman of the Commission, Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, announced that elections for local councils and the House of Representatives in 13 districts of South West State will begin on the 10th of this month.
“Today, we have sent off the materials intended for the 13 districts where the integrated elections in South West State will be held,” the Chairman said.
He also noted that nearly 400,000 people have registered across South West State and are ready to cast their votes to elect their leaders.
