Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali (Hoosh), convened a high-level meeting with a senior United Nations delegation in a move towards enhancing Somalia’s governance and development. The delegation was led by Marina Walter, Deputy Director of the Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The meeting, also attended by Minister of State MP Sadad Mohamed Nour and Deputy Minister Mr. Abdihakin Ashkir, focused on critical issues such as institutional building, stabilization, reconciliation, federalization, and development. Mr. Lionel Laurens, the UNDP representative in Somalia, was also present, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in Somalia’s progress.
Discussions cantered on advancing Somalia’s federalization process and implementing effective stabilization and reconciliation strategies. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering sustainable development and strengthening governance structures in Somalia.
This meeting marks a critical step in Somalia’s journey towards stability and prosperity, highlighting the ongoing partnership between the Somali government and the United Nations.
