Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia has successfully concluded a three-day Crisis Communication Workshop. The workshop was attended by 30 representatives from the Media and Public Relations Offices of various Federal Government agencies.
Mr. Abdinasir Hussein Hassan, Acting Director-General of the Ministry and Director of Administration and Finance, expressed his gratitude to the participants from government agencies and also the United Nations Transitional Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) for supporting the workshop.
The Minister of Information, Mr. Da’uud Aweys Jama, who presided over the closing ceremony, underscored the significance of the workshop in enhancing media relations and preparedness for emergency situations. He encouraged the government officials who benefited from the training to strengthen cooperation in media and public relations under all circumstances and to exercise caution in the dissemination of information to the public, particularly during emergencies.
At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates were awarded to the participants. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve inter-agency media cooperation, raise public awareness, and shape public opinion.
