Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Somalia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed, received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors of Palestine and Thailand in separate meetings on Thursday.
During his meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador, H.E. Ruwid Adel Mohammed, Minister Fiqi reiterated Somalia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. He emphasized Somalia’s solidarity with the Palestinian people in their pursuit of an independent and sovereign state, reaffirming the country’s position on regional and international platforms.
In a separate engagement, Minister Fiqi also welcomed H.E. Ms. Morakot Janemathukorn, the newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Somalia. He wished her success in her mission and stressed the importance of fostering stronger Somali-Thai relations. He highlighted the potential for increased cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, emphasizing the mutual benefits of a more robust partnership.
These diplomatic engagements reflect Somalia’s continued efforts to expand international relations and enhance collaboration with global partners for mutual development and cooperation.
