Doha, (SONNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali (Dhaay), held a meeting in Doha with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, H.E. Mustapha Ahmed Mohamed Noman, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Somalia.
Minister Abdisalam reaffirmed the strong brotherly relations between Somalia and Yemen, reiterating Somalia’s firm support for the government of Yemen. He underscored the importance of unity, stability, and peace in Yemen and expressed solidarity with efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the country.
Deputy Minister Noman emphasized Yemen’s commitment to enhancing the robust bilateral relationship and pledged to work towards deeper cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. He also reiterated Yemen’s support for Somalia’s territorial integrity, independence, and its efforts to achieve security, development, and the fight against terrorism.
Both sides agreed on the need for closer coordination to address shared challenges threatening the peace and stability of the two brotherly nations.
