New York, (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, met in New York with his counterpart, H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Kingdom of Bahrain, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Somalia and Bahrain, and explored ways to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors. The two ministers also discussed regional and international developments of mutual concern and emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation in promoting peace and stability across the region.
Minister Abdisalam congratulated Bahrain on its election as a member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term, noting the importance of this role in supporting regional and international peace and stability.
