Dhusamareb, (SONNA) — The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdullahi Bidhaan Warsame, on Monday conducted a working visit to health and education facilities in Dhusamareb where the ministry has installed free electricity under the Somalia Electricity Recovery Project (ILAYS).
The minister, accompanied by the State Minister and the Deputy Minister of the ministry, toured the Galmudug Ministry of Energy building, Dhusamareb General Hospital, and a local school benefiting from the project.
Hospital officials said the newly installed power supply has significantly improved healthcare services and helped the facility reduce the high costs previously spent on electricity.
Minister Bidhaan stressed the importance of safeguarding and maintaining the solar energy systems to ensure sustainability of the service. He noted that the ILAYS project prioritizes social service institutions and reflects the national leadership’s vision of providing affordable electricity and sustainable water services across the country.
