Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Adan Moallim (Mohamed Soomaali), conducted an official inspection of the National Data Center construction site, which is now nearing completion.
Accompanied by the Ministry’s Director General, Minister Soomaali’s visit marked his second on-site assessment since the project began. The purpose of the inspection was to accelerate the construction process and ensure readiness for the center’s critical role in storing and securing Somalia’s government data.
During the visit, the Minister thoroughly reviewed the facility, inspecting each section and receiving detailed briefings from engineers overseeing the project. He emphasized the urgency of finalizing the center on time and to high standards, instructing contractors to expedite the remaining work.
Once completed, the National Data Center will serve as the official repository for government data, eliminating the need to store critical information outside the country. It is a key milestone in Somalia’s digital transformation strategy, aimed at establishing a secure and modern data infrastructure.
