Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Mahmoud Aadan Geseed, met today with senior officials from the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), led by Mr. Fabio Mevoli, Head of Supply Chain Management, and Mr. Bruno Maboja, Head of Support Services.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry and UNSOS to boost Somalia’s economic growth, support domestic trade, and create meaningful opportunities for Somali communities—particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Minister Geseed emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to building a transparent, open, and globally integrated trade system, with a priority on promoting local production, youth entrepreneurship, and improving the quality of business services across the country.
UNSOS officials, in turn, reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and other government institutions to help foster a stable and thriving business environment in Somalia.
