Mogadishu,(SONNA) – The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abdullahi Sheikh ismael (Fartaag) and a delegation he led arrived in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. The visit marks a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of security cooperation and counterterrorism efforts.
The delegation received a warm welcome in Baghdad from senior officials of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. During their stay, the delegation is expected to hold high-level meetings with key Iraqi government officials to discuss strategies for enhancing collaboration in addressing shared security challenges.
This visit underscores Somalia’s commitment to fostering international partnerships to tackle pressing issues such as terrorism and regional instability. It also reflects a broader effort to build robust ties with Iraq, focusing on mutual security and stability.
