Baidoa, (SONNA) — Thousands of residents and religious scholars in Baidoa gathered in an open field today to perform Salaad Roobdoon (prayer for rain), seeking Allah’s mercy and relief from the ongoing drought.
After the prayers, the scholars and community members collectively supplicated for rain, mercy, and prosperity across the country.
A severe drought has hit parts of southern, central, and northern Somalia, forcing many pastoralist families to migrate to urban areas after losing their livestock and sources of livelihood.
