Mogadishu-(SONNA): In a major breakthrough, the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) forces have successfully eliminated a high-ranking commander of the notorious extremist group Al-Shabaab, who was in charge of their extensive extortion operations in the capital city.

The individual, whose identity has been revealed as Ali Raaxo, was responsible for terrorizing Somali businesses and residents through a reign of fear and intimidation. His role involved making threatening phone calls to individuals, coercing them into making illegal payments. Those who dared to defy the group’s demands were summoned to makeshift and secret courts set up by Al-Shabaab in different locations around the city.

However, recent advances by the Somali National Forces have led to the destruction of Al-Shabaab’s illegal court establishments, leaving the group on the run and unable to establish permanent centers. As a result, they resorted to secret makeshift courts, allowing them to continue extorting hardworking citizens despite losing control over official institutions.

The extensive intelligence-gathering efforts and a determined operation by NISA forces ultimately led to the successful neutralization of Ali Raaxo. This significant development deals a severe blow to Al-Shabaab’s operations in Mogadishu and serves as a resounding victory for the ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the city.

Ali Raaxo’s demise marks a critical turning point in the fight against Al-Shabaab’s reign of terror, as he was a key figure responsible for the group’s extortion racket. By eliminating this high-ranking commander, the security forces have not only disrupted their revenue stream but have also sent a clear message that the Somali government remains resolute in its commitment to eradicating terrorism from the nation.

The Somali National Forces, in close collaboration with international partners, continue their tireless efforts to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s infrastructure and neutralize its top leadership. The success in eliminating Ali Raaxo highlights the effectiveness of these joint operations and showcases the determination of the Somali government to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.

The people of Mogadishu can breathe a sigh of relief with the removal of this notorious extortionist, as his actions had caused immense suffering and fear among the population. The operation also reaffirms the commitment of the security forces to protect the business community and create an environment conducive to economic growth and prosperity.

As the nation celebrates this significant victory against terrorism, the Somali government calls upon the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Together, Somalia stands united in its determination to eradicate terrorism and build a peaceful and prosperous future for all its citizens.
