Mogadishu(SONNA):The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, presided over the preliminary National Security Council through a virtual meeting today. The president briefed the leaders of the Federal member states and the Governor of the Banadir Region on the ongoing dialogue between the Somali Federal government and Somaliland.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hassan Ali Khayre, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mahdi Mohamed Guuleed, and the Federal member states Presidents as well as the Banadir Region Governor. All the participants underscored the importance of the proposed urgent official meeting and agreed that the President of the Republic will set the date and venue on which the meeting shall convene.
The President expressed his firm commitment to strengthening the co-operation of the Federal Government and the Federal member states which is crucial to ensuring the aspirations of the Somali people for the restoration of their nationhood.
H.E President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo reminded the leaders who attended the meeting of the significance of collaboration and compromise for the common good, by furthering the cause of their nationhood in which the Somali people have invested in so much efforts and resources.
For their part, leaders present at the meeting expressed their commitment to furthering the state-building plans and sustainable development for the whole country, jointly welcoming the President’s plan for consultation, mutual agreement and compromise for the common good.
