Mogadishu(SONNA)-Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Federal Republic of Somalia on Wednesday dispatched humanitarian assistance to Guriel town in Galmudug State after heavy fighting displaced over 100’000 people from the town, SONNA reported.
Minister for the Humanitarian Affairs, Khadijo Mohamed Diriye said that her Ministry sent an assistance allocated to 1,000 families, comprising of tens, mosquito nets and health equipment, saying the shipment will made by WFP planes today and tomorrow.
The humanitarian situation came after the Galmudug State forces and Ahlu-Suna militias fought in the town, causing heavy casualties on human, properties and large displacement in the past four days. Guriel is calm now.
