MOGADISHU, Somalia – A high-level delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia, led by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, H.E. Abdullahi Bidhaan Warsame, and the State Minister of Internal Security, H.E. Mohamed Ali Hagaa, conducted an official inspection tour of the Hodan district today. The visit was aimed at assessing the progress of voter card distribution and accelerating preparations for the upcoming local council elections in the Banadir region.
Upon arrival, the ministers were briefed by the District Commissioner of Hodan, Mr. Ali Fahle. He provided a detailed status report on the logistical operations, highlighting the smooth distribution of voter cards to registered citizens and the ongoing public awareness campaigns designed to educate the electorate about the historic “one person, one vote” process.
During the tour, Minister Bidhaan and Minister Hagaa observed the operations at the registration centers firsthand. They commended the Hodan district administration for their efficiency and dedication in managing this critical phase of the electoral cycle.
In a joint message to the public, the ministers issued a strong call to action for the residents of Hodan. They urged all registered voters to collect their cards promptly and take full advantage of this democratic opportunity to directly elect their local representatives, marking a significant step forward in Somalia’s state-building journey.
