Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama, chaired the Somalia Humanitarian Forum organized by the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA).
During the meeting, officials presented a report on the drought situation affecting the country, with senior representatives from United Nations humanitarian agencies in attendance.
Mr. Saalax Axmed Jaamac stated that the government has invested significant efforts in addressing the drought, implementing multiple initiatives, some of which have been successful. He added that the government will further accelerate measures to prevent recurring droughts, with several ongoing plans in place.
