Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Salah Ahmed Jama, held a meeting with ambassadors from the European Union (EU) to discuss critical issues facing the country. Security, eradication of Alshabaab, humanitarian needs, stabilization efforts, and development projects were all on the agenda.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the government’s achievements in internal security and military operations against al-Shabaab. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering essential services to the areas liberated from al-Shabaab control.
The EU ambassadors acknowledged the Somali government’s progress in security and social development. They reaffirmed their support for the government’s efforts to liberate the entire country from al-Shabaab.
The meeting included EU Ambassador Karin Johansson, Italian Ambassador Dacco Coppi, German Ambassador Sebastian Groth, and Swedish Ambassador Joachim Waern.
This high-level meeting signifies the continued partnership between Somalia and the European Union. The EU remains a key player in supporting Somalia’s security, development, and humanitarian needs.
