Riyadh, (SONNA) — A delegation led by the Minister of Defence, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, are in Riyadh on an official visit and on Saturday attended the opening of the World Defense Show 2026, which officially opened in the Saudi capital.
The exhibition is also being attended by the Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail, accompanied by the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi.
The World Defense Show, now in its third edition, runs from 8 to 12 February 2026 and brings together international delegations, government institutions and companies specialising in defence and security industries.
During his stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Somali Defence Minister is expected to sign a defence cooperation agreement between Somalia and Saudi Arabia.
Somalia’s participation in the exhibition focuses on strengthening defence cooperation, exchanging expertise, and keeping abreast of modern security technologies and developments in the military and defence industries.
