Mogadishu- (SONNA) -The Commander of the Somali National Army, General Odowa Yusuf Ragge has warned the Somali National Army not to get involved in the political situation in the country and to strive to fulfil their mandate.

“The Somali National Army cannot do anything about siding with certain groups or following certain ideologies. They can do things through solidarity, cohesion and awareness, ”said Gen Odawa Yusuf Rage.

The Commander pointed out that if the Armed Forces deviate from their sworn mandate and undermine the capacity and vision of the Armed Forces, they will fail in their mandated duties and responsibilities.

Gen. Odawa Yusuf Rage, has ordered all members of the armed forces wherever they are to be on high alert in all areas of the workplace and at the army barracks as well as to refrain from actions that undermine public confidence in the armed forces and anything else that can lead to a division of views and powers of SNA.

Finally, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces specifically advised the officers to protect the unity of the nation, their sworn responsibilities, public trust and military values.
