Mogadishu(SONNA):Criminal investigation department of Somalia (CID) on Tuesday resumed Issuance of certificate of good conduct which was suspended after the spread of COVID 19 in the country, SONNA reported.

The government had put on hold all services that will require an individual to be physically present and gather in large numbers, this step was among many steps the central government took to contain the spread of corona virus. These measures have been effective as it helped to flatten the curve.

Police Spokesman Captain Sadiq Aden Ali told Somali National News Agency (SONNA) said the issuance of good conduct certificates has been resumed on Tuesday 14th July.

Mr. Ali said the department has introduced a series of measures that is intended to protect the public from exposure to COVID 19. He said the intention of the police is to still render services to the public without endangering the health of the citizens.

The measures taken include, every person is required to wear face mask inside the CID compound, there will be hand sanitizers at designated areas to promote hygiene and social distancing will be compulsory at the center.

He added that the CID will serve 150 people in a day which is half the number it used to serve before the pandemic. Somali nationals outside the country will be able to apply for the certificate at their respective embassies.
