Mogadishu, SONNA – Bulo Burde district in the Hiiraan region has advanced to the second round of the State Media’s annual Ramadan Quiz Competition after securing a 14-point victory over Shingaani district of Banadir region, which scored 12 points.
The closely contested match reflects the growing enthusiasm and competitive spirit among participating districts in this year’s tournament.
Nationwide Broadcast
The Ramadan Quiz Competition is broadcast nightly on the Somali National Television and aired live across the country. The program is also transmitted via Radio Mogadishu, ensuring nationwide access for audiences following the competition.
Now in its sixteenth year, the annual competition has become a flagship Ramadan program promoting knowledge, youth engagement, and community pride. This year’s edition is jointly organized by IBS Bank and the Banadir Regional Administration.
Promoting Knowledge and Youth Excellence
Each year, 32 districts from across Somalia take part in the competition, showcasing the academic strength and general knowledge of young participants. The winning district is awarded trophies, cash prizes, and certificates in recognition of their achievement and contribution to advancing knowledge among the new generation.
The competition continues to serve as an important platform for fostering learning, unity, and positive engagement during the holy month of Ramadan.
